Daytona 500: Byron Wins, Blaney and Reddick Struggle
In a dramatic finish to the Daytona 500, William Byron emerged victorious, holding off challenges from Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Denny Hamlin. However, the race wasn’t kind to all the favorites.
- Early Struggles: Rookie Ricky Stenhouse Jr. showed promise early, leading the first yellow of the day on Lap 6, but ultimately finished 28th. Tyler Reddick, the winner of the 2024 Bluegreen Vacations Duel 1, also found himself out of contention, finishing 29th.
- Defending Champ Falters: Defending NASCAR Cup Series champion Ryan Blaney was caught up in a massive 23-car pileup and could only manage a 30th-place finish.
- Next Up: The Cup Series heads to Atlanta Motor Speedway next for the Ambetter Health 400 on February 25th (3:00 PM ET, FOX, PRN Radio, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).
- Inspection Update: Post-race inspection found no issues with Byron’s winning car, solidifying his victory. However, Corey LaJoie’s No. 7 Chevrolet and Bubba Wallace’s No. 23 Toyota will be sent back to the R&D Center in Concord, North Carolina, for further inspection.
